The Delta Project to date

Stage One and Stage One A - SOLD OUT

The Delta subdivision was always going to attract strong local and international interest but such was the demand for the 68 sections originally offered in the first release, that the developers agreed to release a further 20 sections (Stage One A).

With over 700 registrations of interest the developers wanted a fair and equitable sales process.

They decided to sell by a fixed price method and to ensure there was no price escalation or value erosion, offers above or below the asking price were not accepted. They also choose to ballot sections that had more than one offer on them.

All sections in Stage One sold on the first day and within a short period all sections in Stage One A also sold.

Locations Queenstown Managing Director, Henk Hoogvliet says, "70% of the lots were sold to Southland and Te Anau buyers showing that local buyers recognised the quality of the development."

15% of buyers were from overseas; Britain, Australia and Hong Kong; with another 15 percent from the rest of New Zealand.

Jeff Toner, Sales Consultant from Locations says, "Many of these national and international buyers look it up over the internet."

"For the large proportion of buyers from Southland, many of them into outdoor pursuits, this was a last chance in a booming market to purchase a very reasonably-priced piece of real estate," Mr Toner said.

"People are investing in Te Anau property as a tangible base for their money," he said.

"Purchasers are becoming more sophisticated - they're buying real estate long term, for their children and family trusts."

Construction well underway

Work on The Delta is progressing ahead of schedule. Bulk Earthworks and the initial execution of the roading network was completed in March, 2005. Since then services installation has almost been completed with watermains and stormwater pipe laid and bedded, sewerage completed, and roading, electrical and telecommunications supply well underway as well.

Progress is evident in a series of photographs in the photo gallery page.
